The lake of mirror
Covered by flawless ice
A symmetry landscape
Stepping on the image of the sky
And the wind bells start to ring
Following the guiding glare from the lake rim

Faint warmness comes to this body…

…exhausted, chilled, and the well of watery flare is still far away
I beg for the mercy of moon goddess
I beg for the sympathy of the lake elves
But the well of spring I’ve been followed
Is just the mirror image of the moon
Rigged by rage, losing mind, mad dash, limbs breaks, immovable
Knocks his head to the ice crust, riving the antler, insanely struggle
organs, bodies falling apart

The frozen lake mirrors forest pines,

The creek uncovers the feet bones, together with the skull

Undecayed fleshes pollute the trickles
…and the crimson claw rampant on the snow world
Corpses litter the landscape
Where everything pulverised and lied in ruins
Blood bathing
Avichi hells awakes above the ground
The winter queen rises into the sky
And the last snow falls
Like fairies in the air
In the illusionary dreamland
She dances like angel, like devil
Selfless, ignited
And vanishes in the depressing clouds

La traversée du désert n'aura pas duré quarante jours mais quatre longues années... Avec Панихида, Батюшка renaît enfin de ses cendres et, bien que désormais seul (ou plus exactement entouré de deux chanteurs), Христофор accomplit un miracle. Il s'inscrit dans la continuité de Литоургиiа avec un black metal orthodoxe qui nous convie ici à une cérémonie dédiée aux morts. Sa vision est englobante : les mélodies, la gravité et le silence font toucher le paradis ; l'agressivité est luciférienne.

Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end.
